Arts in Prato: ATS2881 Discovering Europe

Arts in Prato: ATS2881 Discovering Europe

Drawing from the wide range of disciplines offered by the Faculty of Arts, the Arts Italy Intensive, offers students the opportunity to learn and experience the culture, history, language, society and landscape of one of the most influential world civilisations.

Based at Monash University’s Prato campus and over two transformative weeks, you’ll study in the beautifully restored Palazzo Vaj, surrounded by cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and traditional Tuscan life. This hands-on, interdisciplinary program draws on the diverse strengths of the Faculty of Arts, inviting students from a wide range of disciplines to engage with Italy’s profound impact on Western culture.

Your experience will include:

  • Interactive classes across history, literature, archaeology, music, philosophy and more
  • Guided excursions to world-renowned galleries, museums, and ancient landmarks
  • Discussions and reflections on enduring human challenges—from public health and war to belief, politics, migration, and identity.
