Established in 1988, Estonian Business School (EBS) is a specialist business educational institution located in the Baltic country’s capital city, Tallinn. Monash has developed a special program for students of Tourism to spend a semester studying and working in Estonia.
Program Overview
Master of Tourism and Master of International Sustainable Tourism Management students undertake an exchange semester at the Estonian Business School from 1 September – 15 December.
Students complete 12 points (15 ECTS) of exchange credit from the EBS MBA program and take the unit APG5044 Industry Internship for 12 points (Summer A) to work on a specific consultancy research project with the Estonian Tourism Industry.
Academic Highlights
Over 30% of EBS’s student body are international students. EBS teaches entrepreneurship and business administration in a practical manner at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels.
Location
Centrally located, the EBS campus is five minutes’ walk from the Old Town in Tallin. Both modern and medieval, Tallinn is also the cultural capital of Estonia, a welcoming city with bars, cafes, museums, and city squares as well as a thriving food scene.

Typically, students take these three units at EBS which are pre-approved by Monash and EBS:
- SOC735 Cross-Cultural Communication (3 credit points)
- MAR712 Digital Marketing (6 credit points)
- MAR713 PR and Media Relations (6 credit points)
These units can be varied upon arrival at EBS (as units in each semester vary from year-to-year) with approval from the program director.
Students will be enrolled in Monash units, AEH5001 & AEH5002 (12 points) and APG5044 (12 points).

Accommodation
The Estonian Business School does not provide on-campus accommodation. It does assist you in finding private accommodation.
Visas
If you hold a current Australian or Malaysian passport you do not need a visa to enter a Schengen region – this includes Estonia – if your intended stay is of no more than 90 days in a six-month period. If you intend to stay longer than 90 days you are likely to need a Long-stay (D) visa. Health and insurance
Non-Estonian and EU citizens who do not have European medical insurance must have their own health insurance. When travelling on a Monash Abroad approved program, you are automatically covered under the Monash University Student Travel Insurance policy.
Orientation and extra-curricular
The orientation organised by the Estonian Business School is compulsory for exchange students. It is held just prior to the start of semester. In addition, all incoming exchange students will be assigned a tutor/buddy by EBS International Club to help with the practical everyday matters during their stay in Tallinn.
