Kobe University

Kobe University was established in 1949 but can trace its origins back to 1902 with establishment of the Kobe Higher Commercial School.  It was only after a series of mergers following World War II, with the advent of the new educational systems, that the current name was adopted.

Academic Highlights

This agreement was established with particular reference to the study of Architecture at Kobe University which forms part of the Faculty of Engineering.

Location

The University has four campuses: Rokkodai, Kusunoki, Myodani, and Fukae. Rokkodai is considered the main campus, and houses nine out of eleven faculties, including Engineering.  The campus is located in the foothills of Mount Rokko with a view of the city and port of Kobe.

This program is curated by the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (MADA) in collaboration with the Gradaute School of Engineering where the Masters of Architecture program is housed at Kobe University. Students will enrol in the following units:

Accommodation

Visas

Exchange students must obtain a College Student visa to enter Japan. To apply for the College Student visa, you need to submit the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for residence in Japan to your nearest Japanese Consulate. Your host University will issue the COE to you after your exchange application has been accepted.

Exchange students are required to register for Japanese National Health Insurance, which will cover 70% of most medical and dental costs.
