Every year, a small number of Monash medical students undergo a competitive selection process to undertake their BMedSc(Hons) research project in Bioethics at the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford.
Students are supervised by at least one bioethics researcher at Monash University (usually from the Monash Bioethics Centre) and at least one bioethics staff member from the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics.
The program has been running since 2011 and is overseen by Prof. Megan Wallace (Director of Medical Student Research, Monash University), Prof. Dominic Wilkinson (Deputy Director, Uehiro Centre in Practical Ethics, University of Oxford) and Dr. Julian Koplin (Monash Bioethics Centre).
Program Costs
Students must be enrolled in the Monash BMedSc(Hons) degree, M3701. Students must also register as a "Recognised Student" at the University of Oxford which is approximately £4,166 per term (2025 cost).
