The University of Auckland is the largest and highest ranked university in New Zealand. It has six campuses, the main one being in central Auckland, and has more than 42,000 students enrolled in eight faculties.
Academic Highlights
The University of Auckland teaches more than 120 undergraduate courses across eight faculties from Creative Arts and Industries through to Business and Medical and Health Services. It has a marine campus at the Leigh Marine Laboratory, 100km north of Auckland.

University accommodation is guaranteed for all exchange students who apply before the deadline.
Visas
As a general rule, Australian citizens and permanent residents won’t need to apply for a visa to study in New Zealand, although may still need to meet character and entry permission requirements on arrival. Read the University's web page on visas.

Health and insurance
All international students are required to have appropriate health and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand. The University will charge an insurance fee to your student account by default upon enrolment.
It must be paid by all exchange students, unless you apply for and are granted a waiver for an alternative insurance policy. For information and costs, see Health and travel insurance.
When travelling on a Monash Abroad approved program, you are automatically covered under the Monash University Student Travel Insurance policy. This will provide cover to and from your exchange.
Orientation and extra-curricular
The University of Auckland organises an international student orientation before semester to help students settle in and provides information about living and studying in Auckland.
Exchange students are encouraged to take part in Auckland's vibrant student life, with over 200 clubs and societies, and sport and recreation on campus.
