MKX3521 / MKX5521 Global Study Program in Marketing - Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan 2026

MKX3521 / MKX5521 Global Study Program in Marketing, Japan

Selected students will be enrolled in unit MKX3521 or MKX5521 for the SSB-01 teaching period. This unit may count towards your postgraduate or undergraduate degree as a major, capstone or elective unit.

The Department of Marketing has run the Global Study Programs in Marketing (GSPM) for the past 44 years. The program offers marketing students a unique and engaging global learning experience. Students will spend approximately 12 days in Tokyo and Kyoto exploring diverse marketplaces, marketing practices and consumer behaviours. Students will also engage directly with marketing managers from leading marketing organisations and brands.

Throughout the program, students will work in collaborative, real-time team environments to generate ideas, complete tasks, and offer creative solutions to complex marketing challenges set by a real-world client. If you want to sharpen your critical thinking, cross-cultural communication, and global awareness, please consider applying to the program.

Want to discover more? Check out highlights from our previous Japan GSPM tour on Instagram (account log-in required).

Before departure, students must attend an on-campus pre-departure learning workshop on 4 January 2027 (9:00-17:00) at Caulfield campus. The workshop is face-to-face and compulsory. Students who do not attend this workshop will be withdrawn from the unit and unable to participate in the study tour.
