Chloe's dream

Chloe went to a school in rural Victoria where few students went on to higher education.

Chloe loved science, but she wasn’t encouraged to pursue her studies. At her school, university was seen as “expensive, challenging, and for many, difficult to access.”

Despite these hurdles, she set her heart on going to Monash. Thanks the generosity of the Monash alumni and donor community, Chloe received a scholarship to study a Bachelor of Science degree.

“My scholarship enabled me to move my entire life to Melbourne and build my own life here. It made me confident enough to study, work, and start my own business,” she says.

Chloe’s business is a fledgling clothing brand. She fits working on the success of her business around her studies, whilst she also worked at the Alumni Outreach Centre.

Chloe was also offered an internship in advertising from an alumni donor whom she was speaking to whilst working at the Alumni Outreach Centre. Chloe says it has opened up “a whole new world.”

For Chloe, the sky is now the limit, and she is grateful for the chance that the Monash alumni and donor community have provided her.

“Thank you for seeing the need for and importance of scholarships to help students access university, despite what challenges they may have faced trying to get there,” she says.
