Pouya's story
"It was my only chance to get into university, so it was a miracle, really"
Pouya Heidari and his family were forced to flee Iran three years ago because their religious beliefs were a risk to their freedom and safety.
As an asylum-seeker in Australia on a bridging visa, Pouya isn’t eligible for Commonwealth-supported higher education, and couldn’t afford the fees for a degree.
Thanks to people like you who support scholarships for disadvantaged students, Pouya is now a Bachelor of Science student who looks forward to a future as an astrophysicist.
Vital donations mean that Pouya’s fees and living expenses are covered.
“When I received the answer I got this scholarship I just cried…This scholarship changed the path of my life."
Your support can provide more places for deserving, talented students who otherwise would not have the chance to attend University.
