In August 2023, Her Excellency Professor Margaret Gardner AC was appointed Governor of Victoria following a remarkable nine-year term as President and Vice-Chancellor of Monash University.
Throughout her tenure, Professor Gardner established Monash as one of the world’s most prestigious universities, renowned for harnessing and shaping excellence in research, education and collaboration. The achievements of the University under Professor Gardner’s leadership are immense, including a commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2030, new heights in global university rankings and establishing Monash’s global presence by building a strategic network of campuses, partners and major centres around the world.
