Monash University, Indonesia Faculty of Information Technology hosts FIT Day 2026

BSD City, Tangerang – Monash University, Indonesia's Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) successfully hosted its annual flagship event, FIT Day 2026, on Saturday 12 September 2026. Running from 9am to 3pm WIB, the event served as a dynamic platform for showcasing FIT students’ research and industry capstone projects, bridging academic research with real-world industry applications.
FIT Day 2026 featured a comprehensive program including master’s thesis poster exhibitions, doctoral research presentations, and an interactive industry expo, drawing attendance from students, academic faculty, and corporate tech leaders.
Research and thesis presentations
The morning session kicked off at 9am with Thesis Poster Session 1, featuring 18 graduate students presenting research on artificial intelligence, health, data science, cybersecurity, and software engineering. Attendees and evaluators engaged in deep-dive discussions on research methodologies and commercial applicability.
Following the initial poster session, the focus shifted to the PhD Research Presentations, where 6 doctoral students from the FIT program presented their advanced research projects. These presentations showcased high-impact solutions addressing complex technological and societal challenges.
Industry experience expo

In the afternoon, 17 graduate research projects featured in a second poster session alongside the Industry Experience (IE) Expo. Students presented working software built with guidance from industry mentors, including Herman Widjaja (CTO, Tokopedia) and Ni Made Sunarti (SVP, CIMB Niaga).
An expert panel evaluated student projects against current industry demands. Judges included:
- Dr. Irvan Bastian Arief, Vice President of Data and AI at Tiket.com
- Christopher Rianto, CTO at Cyber Xpert Nusantara
- Auriga Saleh, Insights Analyst at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison
Award winners
FIT Day 2026 best thesis poster winners
The event concluded with an awards ceremony across five categories:
- Most favourite poster: Siti Amalia Dina (voted by attendees for visual design and audience engagement)
- First best thesis poster: Muhammad Al Yafie (awarded for research depth and methodology)
- Second best thesis poster: Ari Widjonarko (awarded for analytical clarity and data presentation)
- Most innovative project: EV-Flow by Beta Ningtyas, Avirzan Rivai, Muhammad Aidil Akbar, Muhammad Arief Kurniawan and Nicholas (recognised for original problem-solving and potential impact)
- Best pitch: LookTwice by Alvin Arianda, Astrid Frillya S, Kezia Florayn Magda, Fiqih and Nourman Hajar (awarded for clear storytelling and presentation)
