Additional information
1. When should you apply for study?
Apply as early as possible, as some courses may close a few months or a year before the course start date. This allows time for your application to be processed and can help to secure a place if your preferred course has limited places. Applying early also gives you time to get your student visa, which can take up to six months for some nationalities and countries.
2. When should you apply for a student visa?
Students are encouraged to begin the application and visa process as early as possible, approximately 2 months before, to allow sufficient processing time before the commencement of studies.
3. Defer your study
Monash generally allows study deferment for up to 12 months, or longer in exceptional circumstances. If you decide to delay your course commencement, send your deferral request to mi.admissions@monash.edu or through your Monash education agent, if applicable.
