South Tangerang – Monash University, Indonesia, in a collaboration with Sinar Mas Land and Digital Hub, successfully hosted the Grand Finale of the Global Business Competition 2025 on Saturday, 5 July 2025. The event held at the Monash University, Indonesia BSD campus, brought together the top 10 finalists who presented their innovative business proposals to a distinguished panel of judges.
The competition exemplifies the university and partner’s commitment to fostering innovative thinking and preparing Indonesia’s future leaders for the challenges of an increasingly interconnected global business landscape.

Dr. Ivan Butar, Associate Professor and Vice President of Education at Monash University, Indonesia, officially opened the Grand Finale of the Global Business Competition 2025 with his opening remarks. He congratulated the top 10 finalists and offered them words of encouragement.
"To our top 10 finalists, congratulations! Your presence here is not by chance by chance but through great brilliance and creativity. You represent the very best of what this competition aims to achieve, nurturing bold thinkers who are not afraid to tackle real-world business challenges. I want to remind each of you. This journey itself is a victory, you have won already! Regardless of today's outcome, the experience you've gained, are preparing you for what lies ahead in your career."
The Journey to the Grand Finale
The path to the Grand Finale was rigorous and multi-staged. The selection process of the Monash University, Indonesia business competition ensures only the most promising business concepts advance to the finale. Participants progressed through several challenging phases:
- Initial idea and video submission
- MEPT English test to assess communication skills
- Essay workshop participation
- Essay revision and refinement
- Final selection for the Grand Finale

Structure of the Grand Finale Event
The Grand Finale was designed to challenge the finalists’ presentation skills and business acumen, with each given 20 minutes: 10 minutes to present their comprehensive business proposal, followed by 10 minutes of in-depth Q&A with the judges.
This format tested not only the participants’ ability to articulate their business ideas clearly but also their capacity to defend their proposals and respond thoughtfully to challenging questions. Judges praised the high caliber of proposals presented during the business competition Monash University, Indonesia's organised this year.
Grand Finale Winners and Prize Ceremony
After an intense selection process involving idea and video submission, MEPT English test, essay workshop participation, and essay revision, the competition culminated with the Winner Announcement and Awarding Ceremony where the top three champions were declared:
- 1st Place: Yupita - Received 100% Scholarship in Master of Global Business + Cash prize of IDR 2.5 million.
- 2nd Place: Ernesto valen Christoper - Received 50% Scholarship in Master of Global Business + Cash prize of IDR 1.5 million.
- 3rd Place: Lorensia Wibisana - Received 30% Scholarship in Master of Global Business + Cash prize of IDR 1 million.

Yupita, the first-place winner, expressed her gratitude for receiving the prize and full scholarship in Master of Global Business, demonstrating the significant impact this competition has on participants' academic and professional trajectories.
"Global Business competition is a very prestigious competition. I’m deeply thankful to Monash University, Indonesia for creating this platform where we can showcase our ideas and receive such valuable feedback from industry experts," Yupita shared after the ceremony.
The judges' decision was declared FINAL and IRREVOCABLE, with classes beginning in July 2025, ensuring participants had completed their undergraduate degrees and submitted all required documents.
