Jakarta – Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping industries across Indonesia, offering both exciting opportunities and important responsibilities. On 26 February 2026, Monash University, Indonesia hosted its latest Alumni Insight Series at the WTC Conference Hall, Jakarta, welcoming more than 100 alumni for an evening of discussion and networking.
The event, titled "Balancing Innovation with Responsible AI Use", featured a panel of alumni speakers. Arief Tri Hardiyanto, Inspector General at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, shared insights into upcoming national AI guidelines. Irvan Bastian Arief, Vice President of Technology (GRAND, Data & AI) at tiket.com, spoke about building user trust while scaling AI in private enterprises. Petty Kusnandar, Country Marketing Manager – Indonesia at NVIDIA, highlighted global technology trends driving AI adoption. The session was moderated by Khoirunnisa’ Rizky Noor Fatimah, Apple Certified Trainer and Technology Mentor, who guided the conversation towards practical applications for Indonesia’s unique ecosystem.
The discussion highlighted key themes, from adapting global AI practices to Indonesia’s local context through to fostering collaboration across government, academia, industry and civil society. Together, these ideas reinforced that responsible AI is not simply a technical challenge, but a shared societal priority.
