Monash University, Indonesia and Metro TV Signed MoU in Education Sector
MoU signing between Monash University, Indonesia and Metro TV
South Tangerang - Monash University, Indonesia signed an MoU with Metro TV in the education sector at the Monash University, Indonesia campus, BSD City on Thursday 27 June 2024. This collaboration reflects the attention of both parties towards current issues.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was conducted by the leaders of both institutions, the CEO of Media Group Network, M. Mirdal Akib, and the President Director of Metro TV, Arief Suditomo, along with the President and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Monash University, Indonesia, Professor Matthew Nicholson, and the COO & VP (Operations and Enterprise), Tantia Dian Permata Indah.
From the Metro TV stakeholders, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Aries Fadhillah, and the Head of Corporate Communications, Fifi Aleyda Yahya, were also present.
Mirdal Akib, Media Group Network CEO, delivering his remarks
Media Group Network CEO, Mirdal Akib, revealed that the collaboration with Monash University, Indonesia has a broad scope, ranging from information exchange, education, and research for the human resources of both parties.
Mirdal also mentioned that this cooperation agreement could maximise the knowledge of academics, research, and journals on current issues such as data security in Indonesia. This is necessary to enrich the wealth of information that will be conveyed to the public.
Mirdal hopes that this collaboration will bear many useful results for both institutions in the future.

On the same occasion, the COO & VP (Operations and Enterprise) of Monash University, Indonesia, Tantia Dian Permata Indah, stated that Monash University, Indonesia would provide resource persons, while Metro TV would provide a platform, allowing both institutions to disseminate education in Indonesia together.
"And this education is multisectoral, cross-disciplinary, and, of course, cross-media. We hope that with this collaboration, we will further spread the spirit of education in Indonesia," said Tantia.
She explained that Monash University was first established in Indonesia with the spirit of advancing education in the country. Monash University, Indonesia came not as a competitor but as a driving force, together elevating the level and quality of education in Indonesia.
"So Monash came to Indonesia with that spirit, which is always applied, on how we develop research capabilities, educational and teaching abilities, by sharing what has been our experience at Monash with other universities in Indonesia," she said.
"With this collaboration, we hope that we can together advance education in Indonesia, prevent disinformation, and educate the nation," Tantia continued.
