Strengthening Academic Ties: MoU Signing Between Monash University, Indonesia and Petra Christian University

Monash University, Indonesia visiting PCU in Surabaya for MoU Agenda

Surabaya – A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Monash University, Indonesia, and Petra Christian University (PCU) at PCU campus in Surabaya, on Tuesday, 17 September 2024.

Monash University, Indonesia's delegation was led by Professor Matthew Nicholson, Pro Vice-Chancellor and President, and Ibu Tantia Dian Permata Indah, COO and Vice President (Operations and Enterprise). Expressing her excitement about the partnership, Tantia Dian Permata Indah shared, "The partnerships with PCU will be a very good start for our long-term partnership collaboration with this university. In this today’s discussion today, we are not only talking about partnership itself but also the operational details, the vision, and also the dreams that we share together. I believe that this partnership will be fruitful for both of us."

Representing PCU, Prof. Djwantoro Hardjito, PhD. the Rector, along with Ibu Elisa Christiana, the Director of the International Office, and other staff members, showcased enthusiasm for the collaboration. Elisa Christiana remarked, "I think this is a very good start for both of us, so that we can give our students international experience and improve their knowledge both in Indonesia and Australia. This also can give opportunities to It will also provide opportunities for our lecturers to pursue PhD degrees. We have many plans for the future, and I think all the benefits will not only be for both universities but also for Indonesia as a whole."

The formal signing of the MoU marked a pivotal moment, with Prof. Djwantoro Hardjito, PhD. from PCU and Ibu Tantia Dian Permata Indah from Monash University, Indonesia, sealing the agreement.

Following the signing ceremony, a campus tour was organized for the Monash University, Indonesia delegation. Led by Ibu Elisa Christiana, the tour provided a firsthand glimpse into the rich academic environment at PCU, fostering camaraderie and paving the way for collaborative academic endeavours between the two institutions.
