Monash University, Indonesia Makes International Higher Education More Accessible Through the Australia Exchange Program at Local Tuition Rates

Monash University, Indonesia has launched the Australia Exchange Program offering Indonesian master’s students greater access to international education.
The program will allow students to spend up to one and a half years studying at Monash University, Indonesia before completing an additional six months in Melbourne. It will form part of Monash’s Global Mobility Program.
It will launch for the January 2025 intake with four in-demand majors: Public Policy and Management, Global Business, Urban Design, and Marketing and Digital Communications, with plans to offer all majors by January 2026.
Monash University Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and Senior Vice President, Professor Craig Jeffrey, said the Australia Exchange Program offers a structured pathway to global higher education to support Indonesian students achieve their dreams of studying abroad.
"Monash offers a global education. Indonesian students will benefit from a curriculum that fosters global perspectives and access to professional networks across the world," said Professor Jeffrey.
Students will benefit from an Australian Tuition Fee Waiver, dedicated academic support, and access to campus amenities in both countries. Other features include:
- No additional tuition fees. The Australia Exchange Program applies only to Monash University, Indonesia's tuition policy.
- Global exposure. This program offers Indonesian students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant campus life at Monash University Australia, building a global outlook that supports long-term networking opportunities.
- Academic excellence. Indonesian students will experience world-class education, specialised units, and state-of-the-art research facilities, all delivered by leading international academics.
- Expansive career prospects. The program boosts employability through international exposure and broadens professional networks across Asia and Australia.

The Australian Exchange Program is also one of the solutions to Indonesian students' high interest in pursuing higher education in Australia. According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), 12,852 Indonesian students are currently enrolled in higher education in Australia, accounting for over 20% of Indonesians studying abroad.
A Transformative Pathway for Global Engagement
Monash University, Indonesia is also launching the Monash Innovation Guarantee Postgraduate (MIG-P) as part of its Global Mobility Program, enhancing the opportunities provided by the Australia Exchange Program. This program provides Indonesian students a pathway to gain hands-on industry experience and developing leadership skills by collaborating with prominent industry leaders, including commercial or social enterprises, government or UN bodies, and innovative startups.
Held every June, the MIG-P program allows students to leverage their academic expertise to tackle real-world problems, enhancing both their career prospects and their potential to create lasting impact.
