Special Collections reading room
Access items from our Special Collections by registering for a membership.
Membership eligibility
Membership is free of charge for eligible members of the community who are:
- Not current staff or students of Monash University [see Borrowing]
- New members will receive an email from librarians@monash.edu after submitting the form, once their account has been activated.
Members will not be issued a library card. However, you will need to present photo ID each time you come to use the Special Collections reading room.
What you can access
- Members will only be able to access Special Collections items, by requesting them then making a booking for the Special Collections reading room, to come and view the items.
- Members will not be able to borrow any general collection items.
If you would like to access Special Collections items that are held offsite, email specialcollections@monash.edu and the Special Collections team will submit the request on your behalf (these items are not requestable in Primo).
