Connect your ORCID record
Connect your profiles to ORCID to save time and keep your research information consistent.
Your ORCID ID becomes more useful when you connect it to other systems that index or manage your research. Publications, grants and other research information can then be added to your ORCID record automatically, depending on the system.

It is particularly important to connect your ORCID identifier in your Monash Pure profile.
On this page:
Connect your Monash Pure profile to ORCID ID
Link your Pure profile to your ORCID ID to export your research outputs to your ORCID record. This requires you to log in to ORCID and authorise Monash University as a trusted organisation.
Here’s how to connect to ORCID in Pure:
- Log in to your Pure account. Make sure you’re on your Personal page.
- Check your ORCID ID status:
- Authenticated
Your ORCID ID is already connected. No action needed.
- Not authenticated
Select ‘Authenticate your ORCID ID’.
- Re-authentication required
Select ‘Re-authenticate’.
- No ORCID ID listed
Select ‘Create or connect your ORCID ID’.
- Authenticated
- In the Connect with your ORCID ID pop-up window:
- Select the first checkbox to allow Pure to validate your ORCID ID.
- Select the second checkbox if you want to allow Pure to export your research outputs to ORCID automatically in the near future. We are currently working on enabling the auto sync feature in Pure. You can still export research outputs to ORCID manually.
- Click "Proceed".
- Log in to ORCID and follow the prompts to approve access. If creating a new ORCID ID, look out for a verification email to confirm your registration.
- After authentication, you will be redirected back to Pure. Your ORCID ID and its Authenticated status will now be displayed.
- Save your profile.
- Check your public Monash researcher profile to see how it looks.
Connect your Bridges profile to your ORCID ID
If you have a Bridges account for publishing and sharing your research data and non-traditional research outputs, connect it to your ORCID ID. Once connected, all new research outputs you publish in Bridges will be recorded against your ORCID ID automatically.
