ORCID ID and profile
Create a unique researcher ID that stays with you throughout your career and helps ensure you receive credit for your research. Your ORCID ID is the primary identifier required by funders and publishers.
An ORCID identifier (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is your unique 16-digit researcher identifier. It distinguishes you from all the other researchers and ensures that your research is correctly attributed to you, even if you change your name, affiliation or institution.

An ORCID ID is useful at every stage of your research career, whether you are a PhD student, early career researcher or established researcher. Many funders, including the Australian Research Council (ARC) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), require or encourage researchers to provide an ORCID ID when applying for funding.
Connecting your ORCID ID to Monash Pure and other platforms such as Scopus, Dimensions and Web of Science is an essential step. It reduces double-handling and keeps your records consistent, accurate and up to date.
