Professor Jenny Gamble

Professor of Midwifery

Jenny is a highly accomplished and respected academic with a strong international profile as a professional leader. Her extensive career in practice, tertiary education, policy and research has focused on championing service re-design to scale-up women’s access to continuity of midwifery care, building a strong, competent midwifery workforce, and advocating for maternal and newborn policy to align with the evidence and women’s expectations. Her research program is relevant to the global and national research agenda, clinically significant, interdisciplinary and woman-centred.

Jenny has worked in four Australian states and overseas. Her previous roles include Professor and Clinical Chair of Midwifery with Coventry University in the UK (until 2024), and Professor and Head of Midwifery at Griffith University. Her clinical career includes 10 years as an independent midwife (home and hospital birth).
