Research strategy
Through quality research and collaborations with key stakeholders (e.g., communities, consumer groups, government bodies, industries, heath services, philanthropy), we continue to improve and create new knowledge essential to the development of health-related research, policies, and contemporary evidence-based practice.
Since the inception of Monash Nursing & Midwifery, we have demonstrated our commitment to transform healthcare for the betterment of our communities through our research excellence, interdisciplinary collaborations, and contribution to the development of various key clinical guidelines. In the past five years (2018-2022), half of our research outputs were published in top 25% peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, two-thirds of our research outputs and half of our externally funded projects involved interdisciplinary collaborations with our key external partners. Our research has informed the development, implementation, and evaluation of national and international policies and practices that impact health, education, and practice.
Our vision is to be global leaders in transformative health research by investing in our people, fostering local, national, and global partnerships, and delivering solutions to address important and pressing health challenges.
This document, Monash Nursing & Midwifery Research Strategy 2023-2027, is our strategic plan for the next five years. It outlines our research vision, strategic principles, and key outcomes we aspire to achieve. The term ‘health research’ refers to both clinical and education research. Monash Nursing & Midwifery Research Strategy 2023-2027 will be operationalised through the Implementation Plan with key initiatives and performance measures to guide our progress toward achieving key outcomes.
