The health workforce has never been more challenged - by increasing demand for care and a shortage of available workforce. This research theme is broad, ranging from workforce preparation, recruitment and retention, to models of care, and innovations to improve patient outcomes, across a diversity of health care settings.

Our researchers collaborate with health services, departments of health, government bodies, and professional associations to explore models of care and workforce models, with a focus on patient safety and staff wellbeing.

Research area lead

Professor Julia Morphet

Julia is an experienced emergency nurse and leader, with research expertise in health workforce, workforce development and wellbeing, with an ultimate goal of improving patient care.
