Master of Advanced Nursing, Nurse Practitioner
Monash alum Rebecca Taylor-Bowman is taking her nursing career to the next level with the Master of Advanced Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
As a Senior Community Clinician at Latrobe Regional Hospital in Warragul, Rebecca plans to endorse as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and will complete her accredited qualification in two years. Her decision to continue studying at Monash was easy, she says. “All of my postgraduate studies have been through Monash University. I didn’t consider studying anywhere else for the Master of Advanced Nursing.”
"The course content has been both interesting and challenging."
Rebecca enthuses, “The course content has been both interesting and challenging. I feel that I’ve already made significant advancements in my knowledge base since commencing and have made significant changes to my practice as a result.”
Rebecca is currently developing a proposed mode of care for a Nurse Practitioner position in her workplace. “I am proud to be a nurse,” she says “Being able to endorse as a nurse practitioner would place me in the privileged position of being a nursing leader with respected clinical expertise and the extensions of practice granted to an endorsed nurse practitioner.” Rebecca hopes to provide a holistic approach to diagnosis, treatment and case management, ultimately improving access and quality of services her patients need.
