Pathways
If you’re looking for an alternative pathway into the Bachelor of Nursing at Monash, the Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS) could help you get there.
Offered at Peninsula campus, DoTS provides an entry pathway that is equivalent to the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing if you didn’t get the ATAR you expected, or you’re looking for a pathway to university as a TAFE graduate or mature-age applicant.
During this course you’ll be introduced to nursing and healthcare as a profession. You’ll study foundation knowledge in human bioscience, nursing and midwifery, health assessment and professional practice.
Students who pass all eight units in the Nursing stream and achieve a minimum weighted average mark of 55% in DoTS will be eligible to receive up to one year of credit into the Bachelor of Nursing course at Peninsula campus.
You can apply for this course via VTAC and all applicants must complete a VTAC Personal Statement which should outline why you are applying for the DoTS in Nursing and provide evidence to demonstrate your motivation to study and any relevant work experience or community involvement.
For full details on this course including ATAR and entry requirements visit the Diploma of Tertiary Studies information page.
