Accommodation
Cambridge and Oxford are collegiate universities, and all its students are members of a College.
The academic decision on whether to recommend you for a place on your chosen course is made by the department to which you apply, not the College. Your application papers will be sent to the Colleges only after a formal academic offer of admission has been made. Your application will be considered in sequence by a number of different Colleges until a College offers you membership.
Cambridge College Facts and Figures, there is further information on the Food and accommodation web page.

King's operates differently. See the information about accommodation on the King's Residences web page.
Visas
A Tier 4 visa is issued to study in the UK for six months or longer. The sponsor for Tier 4 purposes is the educational institution where the student will study. The visa is issued for a particular course at the institution. You must apply for a Tier 4 visa prior to travelling to the UK unless you are already in the UK holding a valid visa that permits you to make an application for further leave to remain under Tier 4.
