Handbook/Catalogue
Units or modules, as they are called at Warwick, are offered on a full academic-year and part-year basis, Read the explanation carefully before searching the module catalogue. If you are only intending to study for a single semester, you should select units from the part-year module catalogue only. Some departments (such as Computer Science, Film and Television Studies, Mathematics and Statistics) do not offer part-year options, so please check the module catalogue carefully.
To find more in-depth unit outlines, you may need to refer to the specific department's module handbook/web-page. Some departments now require a login to be able to access unit outlines. In these cases, you can try referring to their Archive for past units.
At the University of Warwick, you must take at least 50% - 75% of your units within one department, which is referred to as your base department. You can take units from only one other department at Warwick.
Please also note that the Department of Computer Science require students to have a 3.0 GPA or equivalent WAM (70+).

Visas
Non-UK or European Union citizens must have a valid student visa to undertake an exchange period. To apply, you will need a visa support letter - Confirmation of Acceptance - from your host university.
If studying for more than six months, then a Tier 4 (general) student visa may be required.
If studying for less than six months, a Tier 4 (general) student visa or a short-term study visa may be required. The short-term study visa is the simpler and cheaper option for entering the UK however the visa cannot be extended and no work can be undertaken (paid or unpaid) while in the UK.
If you are not a national of a majority English-speaking country you may need to meet UK Border Agency language requirements. Be sure to check the requirements.
For more information on student visas, please refer to the British Consulate-General here.
The University of Warwick also provides some advice on visas, which can be found here.
Health and insurance
Warwick strongly recommends that all students have comprehensive health insurance.
Please note Tier 4 General Student visa applicants are required to pay an immigration health charge (IHS) at the point of submitting their visa application. The charge will entitle the visa holder to free health services under the National Health Service (NHS) once inside the UK.
Warwick provides more important information and links to relevant websites under the Do I need health insurance? heading.

Important notes
You can go to Warwick on exchange for one term (Autumn or Spring) or a full year commencing in the Autumn term. You cannot go on exchange for the Summer term alone, it must be combined with the Autumn and/or Spring term.
Law students wanting to study on exchange at Warwick in the Monash Semester 1 should be aware that many modules/units are assessed by exam, so you will need to stay for the Spring and Summer terms, or take units that have an alternative assessment.
From semester two, 2025, it will no longer be possible to study Engineering on exchange at the University of Warwick.
