Jae started her position on October 1st and over the next year, she will be working on her book project which is based on her PhD thesis titled "Isolation and Struggle to Belong: Older Korean-Australian Migrants' Managing Emotions through Homeland Digital Media". Her research draws on two theoretical frameworks: a critical-realism-informed approach and the sociology of emotion. The book project will focus on how older Korean migrants navigate isolation, everyday difficulties, and tensions in the host society, tracing their emotional lines, responses and the strategies they develop to cope.
