Quiz on Korea
2026 Report
Monash Korean Studies is back with our annual Quiz on Korea, a fun university challenge between Korean studies students from Monash and our partnered Vietnamese Universities. This year, the participants included students from Monash University (introductory to proficient level), Van Lang University, and a participant from our new partner Hanoi University. There were 45 multiple choice questions, all written in Korean, related to Korean culture, language and history. There were 48 quiz questions which covered various topics on Korean language, culture and history. All questions were written in Korean with one short-answer question, which required students to type their answer in Korean, and 47 multiple choice questions. The teams were ranked via the Kahoot ranking system, based on the accuracy of their answers and how fast the questions were answered.
The winner of the first annual Quiz on Korea 2024 is team Da Nang who received a cash prize of $400 AUD, in 2nd place was team Van Lang who received $100 AUD, and in 3rd place was team Monash who were very enthusiastic and had a great time. This event was a huge success with positive feedback from our participants and partner universities. We would like to extend our thanks to the Korean studies teaching associates from all three universities for creating the questions, and to our MC Hyein for hosting the event. We wish to make this a bigger event in the future with participation from more Korean Studies Universities locally and internationally.
