Monash University, Indonesia Working With Kalbe To Strengthen Leaders Capacity

Jakarta, 22 December 2022 – Monash University, Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe). This collaboration is a testament of Monash University Indonesia commitment as a higher education institution that aims to increase the capabilities to compete in the global market.
"Under the coordination of the Master of Business Innovation at Monash University, Indonesia, we will work closely with the School of Pharmacy in Melbourne, Australia, to provide the best training program that combines theory and practice in Indonesia and Australia. We believe the approach will be beneficial and relevant for to Kalbe, especially in accordance with the Panca Sradha value," said Assistant Professor, Master in Business Innovation, Monash University, Indonesia, Dr. Harriman Samuel Saragih.
Dr. Harriman also said that it was an honor and a great achievement for Monash to be able to contribute to the pharmaceutical industry. Aside from Monash and Kalbe, this program also involves several other parties.
"We’re very grateful for the trust Kalbe gave to Monash University, Indonesia in this program. Especially to Mrs. Irawati Setiady, President Commissioner of Kalbe; Mr. Vidjongtius, President Director of Kalbe; Mrs. Jessyca Sentosa, and others, thank you for all the supports and provide constructive ideas so that we can submit proposals that fit with Kalbe's needs," he added.
Monash University, the 44th best university in the world based on the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023, will be intensively involved in a competency development program for more than six months starting in February 2023. Apart from that, the program is also specifically designed to build bilateral relations between Indonesia and Australia by involving elements of academia, government and private industry from both countries.

"Kalbe wants to go global, so our people must also be equipped to have a global mindset or perspective. We are pleased that Monash University, Indonesia has been chosen to partner with us to transform Kalbe into a Global Healthcare Company," said Head of Corporate HRGA & HSSE Kalbe, Jessyca Sentosa.
The program will provide the next generation of Kalbe leaders with competencies and capability in managing a pharmaceutical company. This collaboration is expected to further strengthen the capabilities of the Kalbe Group's executive leaders in the areas of business development, global business strategy, and innovation. Jessyca also hopes that this program will be a good start and continuous collaboration, so that it can continue to produce Kalbe future leaders.
"We hope that this partnership can be an opportunity of growth for Kalbe and Monash University to contribute in improving the Indonesian public health sector," said Jessyca.
