Global Intercampus Program - Postgraduate

The Global Intercampus Program allows master's students at Monash University, Indonesia to study at Monash University, Australia campuses for up to six months. You will expand your global network, develop cross-cultural competencies and gain valuable international exposure—all while continuing to pay Monash University, Indonesia tuition fees.

To apply for the Global Intercampus program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be an active enrolled master's student at Monash University, Indonesia.
- Have achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60%.
- Have accumulated at least 24 credit points at Monash University, Indonesia.
- Be eligible to enrol in approved units that ensure a full load of on-campus units (24 credit points) in Australia, including meeting the prerequisites for the units you will take.
- Your course progression must allow for the inclusion of 24 credit points of approved units.
- Be in good academic standing with a clear disciplinary record.
- Have up-to-date fee payments.
- Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity remaining after the end of your overseas study.
The Global Intercampus Program includes the following benefits:

Before applying for the Global Intercampus Program, please take the following items into consideration:
- You will receive a pre-prescribed study plan at Monash University Australia, which details the recommended units and your departure period. Each program will have specific departure timelines.
- You may only have one active semester-length overseas study application with Monash for the same study period.
- If you are receiving a scholarship from an external organisation, you should check with your sponsor and obtain their permission to participate in this program before applying.

The deadlines for submitting online applications are at 4:00 PM (Australian time) / midday (Indonesian time) on the specified date. You must first complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form before being invited to submit the online application. We often receive a high volume of applications as the deadline approaches, so we encourage you to submit your expression of interest and application early. Please note that no time extensions will be granted.

Students should apply for the Global Intercampus Program in the semester prior to their exchange. The dates provided are tentative application dates for each semester. Once the application period opens, the student services team will send out a broadcast announcement.

Steps to apply View

To apply, follow these steps:

Fill in the Global Intercampus Program application forms and submit your study plan
Follow the instructions outlined on the Global Intercampus Program in Australia Application and Study Plan instructions page. You will need to submit your application for Global Intercampus Program to Monash Abroad, through this form. You also have to submit your study plan based on the designated units approved for your course' semester exchange. Student Services and Monash Abroad will then review your eligibility and study plan submission.
Submission review
Once you have submitted your application, its status will be updated to "Submitted."
Acceptance notification
If your application is successful, you will receive your offer letter approximately 4-6 weeks after the application deadline. The offer will be sent to you via Smartsheet Automation.
Please follow the instructions provided in the offer letter to accept your offer. To complete your acceptance, you will also need to purchase the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Instructions for purchasing the OSHC will be included in the offer letter, and you must complete this by the deadline stated in the letter.
Purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Students travelling to Australia are required by Australian visa regulations to purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). The duration of your OSHC must align with the duration of your Australian student visa and/or expected arrival and departure dates. Usually, a student visa will end one month after the course completion date. If your OSHC policy ends prior to this date, then your student visa will also reflect this shorter end date.
Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Approximately 2 weeks after you provide proof of your OSHC purchase, you will receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) document via your student email. You will need the CoE to apply for your student visa (subclass 500, non-award sector).
Apply for your student visa
You are solely responsible for applying for your student visa (subclass 500, non-award sector) to study in Australia. Obtaining an Australian student visa is relatively straightforward. You may only begin your student visa application once you have the CoE document, which is linked to your visa application. You can save your application and continue it later if needed.
The Student Services team at Monash University, Indonesia will offer recommendations for visa agencies to assist you with this process.
Attend pre - departure briefing

1. How do I choose units for my study plan?
Monash University, Indonesia has curated recommended units and study semesters for each program. An information session on mobility programs will be held for each specific programs so you can learn more about your options. Reach out to ask.monashindonesia@monash.edu if you are unsure on which units you can take for your Global Intercampus Program.
2. How many units should I include in my study plan?
You must enrol in a total of 24 credit points of units at the Australian campus. We will ensure that the recommended units align with your study requirements and with the class schedule, and provide alternative options if enrollment limits are reached for certain classes.
3. Who needs to approve my study plan?
Your unit selections will be pre-approved by the course coordinator. Any changes to the pre-approved list must be approved before your studies begin.
4. How do I handle the difference in academic calendars between Monash University, Indonesia and Australia?
Your units will follow a pre-approved plan that accounts for the differences in academic calendars between Monash University in Indonesia and Australia. It's essential, therefore, to consult with Student Services regarding your study plan.

No, on-campus accommodation is limited and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

1. What type of visa do I need for the Global Intercampus Program?
You will need a student visa (subclass 500, non-award sector) that permits study in Australia for up to six months. The current cost for a student visa is A$2,500 (the visa fees may be subject to change).
2. When should I apply for my Australian visa?
You may apply for your student visa once you receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) document from the Monash Abroad team in Australia.
3. What is OSHC and why do I need it?
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is mandatory health insurance for international students in Australia. Once you have purchased your OSHC, you will receive a Certificate of Insurance (COI) that you submit when applying for your visa.
1. Does OSHC cover all my health needs in Australia?
OSHC covers basic medical, hospital care, limited pharmaceuticals, and ambulance services.
2. Do I need additional insurance?
Yes, it's strongly recommended to take out comprehensive travel insurance for coverage beyond what OSHC provides.

Information about living costs in Melbourne for international students can be found here. This information is primarily for international students completing a full degree at Monash so there may be some variations for Exchange and Study Abroad students.
