Afternoon tea for parents and guardians with President Professor Matthew Nicholson

This special session is just for parents so they can share the excitement of Orientation and the start of your Monash journey.

Frequently asked questions

Get details on travelling to our campus including parking, public transport and the areas surrounding our campus.
We recommend smart casual clothing and comfortable shoes, as some activities involve moving around campus. Choose something you feel confident in and can wear all day.
Some meals and snacks will be provided:
- Orientation day one (14 July): Lunch provided.
- Orientation day two (16 July): Bring your own lunch or purchase food in the venues surrounding the campus; afternoon tea provided.
- Orientation day three (21 July): Lunch provided.
- Orientation day four (23 June): Bring your own lunch or purchase food in the venues surrounding the campus; afternoon tea provided.
If you have any dietary requirements, let us know when you register so we can make sure suitable options are available.
For other meals and snacks, you are welcome to bring your own food from home or purchase food from one of the many venues surrounding campus.
We know that your parents and family are as excited as we are that you’re about to start your education journey at Monash.
Special afternoon tea for parents on Orientation day two (16 July)
We warmly invite the parents and guardians of our commencing undergraduate students to attend a special afternoon tea with Monash University, Indonesia President Professor Matthew Nicholson. They’ll get the chance to meet University leaders and academics, and learn more about the Monash experience.

Other Orientation activities
For the rest of the Orientation activities, though, they’re designed specifically for our new undergraduate students. To make sure all new students can participate, we kindly ask that your family not join you for these particular events.
Our Orientation activities are just for new Monash University, Indonesia students.

- Wear a comfortable outfit and shoes
- Bring a hat to cover you from the heat
- Bring your tumbler (you can refill your tumbler on campus!)
- Bring a writing kit and a notebook. You can leave your laptop at home for Day 1, and bring it on Day 2.
- If you have medical conditions or allergies, bring your personal medications with you in case you need them.
