For Yupita, education has always been a "dream catcher"—a transformative bridge capable of turning modest beginnings into limitless global possibilities.
Growing up in a modest household where her parents never had the opportunity to complete a university degree, Yupita understood early on that shaping her future would require unwavering dedication and hard work. Today, as the leader of a hospital group business unit managing a team of around 40 healthcare professionals, she successfully combines business strategy, leadership, and operational excellence to create meaningful impact.
Beyond her corporate role, Yupita is a proud mother to a six-year-old son. For her, true success is not measured solely by executive milestones, but by building a life that balances high-level professional ambition with being present for her family and community.
Seeking to broaden her strategic vision within an international intellectual community, Yupita enrolled in the Master of Global Business at Monash University, Indonesia—stepping back into academia nearly 12 years after completing her bachelor’s degree.
Navigating postgraduate study while leading a large team and raising a young child brought intense demands. The reality of balancing these responsibilities was tested when both Yupita and her son fell ill and were hospitalised at the same time. Even from a hospital bed, she logged onto an evening call with her Monash working group to fulfill her academic commitments.
"Pursuing a meaningful goal is not always convenient or easy," Yupita reflects. "I have learned that resilience is not simply about enduring difficult moments, but about continuing to show up for the things that matter to you."
Returning to academic writing after more than a decade away initially sparked moments of self-doubt. However, the consistent support from her educators and academic support staff helped shift her perspective.

"I questioned whether I could produce academic work at an international postgraduate standard after being away from university for almost 12 years," she says. "What made the support from my lecturers so powerful was that they believed in my ability at times when I was not entirely sure of it myself. I began to realise that I didn't need to know everything from the beginning—I just needed to stay curious, be willing to learn, and have the courage to keep going."
That supportive environment, combined with the rich perspectives of her peers, transformed how Yupita viewed her own potential. Rather than feeling pressured to compete, she found inspiration in a diverse student body that pushed her to elevate her thinking.
Through every assignment completed, piece of feedback received, and challenge overcome, Yupita discovered the true power of grit.
"Monash has taught me many things academically, but one of the most important lessons has been personal," she reflects. "It has helped me realise not only that I belong here, but that I am enough."
Today, with renewed confidence, heightened strategic discipline, and an enduring sense of purpose, Yupita continues to lead in the healthcare sector—proving that where you begin does not have to define how far you can go.
