Monash Nursing and Midwifery runs a Discipline Enhanced Development doctoral program.
In collaboration with Monash Graduate Eduction and departments across the University, Nursing and Midwifery students are able to select from a number of learning activities to meet their specific professional development needs such as systematic review training, data management and analysis and higher education teaching and learning skills.
As a component of this program, the school runs a two day intensive communication and research skill development training program. These 'Research Schools' provide a wonderful opportunity for students to hear from expert researchers within the school and to get feedback on their projects and to debate research methodologies, as well as problem solving with staff and most importantly, their peers. They can practice presentation skills and learn about effective research communication strategies.
Monash Nursing and Midwifery holds two of these programs per year, one in February and the other in the September mid-semester break. They are held at each campus on a rotation basis.
