Monash eResearch Joins the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre Champions Program

20 March  2025

The Pawsey Champions Program is an advocacy and outreach initiative developed by the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre to engage with key members of Australia’s research community and accelerate scientific capability and discovery nationwide.

The program officially commenced in early February with an intensive three-day workshop. This gathering brought together Champions from universities across Australia, including Monash University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Flinders University, Queensland University of Technology, and the University of Melbourne. It laid the foundation for future collaborations and activities.

One key benefit of this program is that it provides Champions' institutions with access to Pawsey's Fast Track Access Scheme. This schemewhich is expected to be fully operational and available to Monash Researchers by Q3 2025, offers an accelerated pathway for research to use Australia's most powerful high-performance computing infrastructure for public research.

Beyond providing access, the program also aims to:

  • Enhance Pawsey's national profile
  • Increase awareness and usage of its services and
  • Strengthen engagement with the Australian research community to better understand evolving needs, challenges and opportunities.
