Monash eResearch student team wins award

In 2018, Monash eResearch sent a team of students to the world's premier SuperComputing Conference (SC18, in Dallas USA) to compete in a Student Cluster Competition.

After many years of mentoring and hard work, participating in similar competitions worldwide, the High-Performance Computing Student team of DeepNeuron won a Merit Award at the 6th APAC HPC-AI Competition.

Two students, Alistair Lim and Yusuke Miyashita, had the privilege of presenting their work (“Student Cluster Competitions: From Students to Future HPC Researchers”) at SupercomputingAsia 2024 and receiving the award for the team.





About the Monash University DeepNeuron (MDN)

DeepNeuron is a student team focused on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) to make positive impacts worldwide.

With over 100 members, MDN consists of several talented internal teams including Deep Learning, High-Performance Computing, Marketing, Industry, Outreach, and the Law & Ethics Committee.

MND technical teams collaborate with researchers across diverse fields to develop tailored AI and HPC solutions and participate in international competitions.

Meanwhile, their non-technical teams are dedicated to educating and empowering individuals interested in the fascinating realms of HPC and AI, regardless of their experience levels.
