Committed to Creating Excellent Human Resources in Cybersecurity and Public Health in Indonesia, Monash University Indonesia Launches Two New Master Programs

Monash University, Indonesia officially launched two new programs in the 2022/23 academic year; Master of Cybersecurity program and Master of Public Health program.

Jakarta, 25 August 2022 - Monash University, Indonesia officially launched two new programs in the 2022/23 academic year; Master of Cybersecurity program and Master of Public Health program. With the launch of these two new programs, Monash University, Indonesia seeks to meet the industry's need for experts, and also to prepare competent human resources in each of these fields for Indonesia's future development.

President of Monash University, Indonesia Prof. Andrew MacIntyre stated, “These two new programs are a testament of Monash's commitment to producing talent that can compete globally in line with the growing needs of the industry, particularly in cybersecurity and public health.”

The constant development of data-based digital technology has accelerated, opening up more opportunities for progress. However, this also has its own complexities, one of which is the increased risk of cyber attacks, whether it be on personal data, business data, or government agency data. In fact, there are at least more than 2.72 million workforce gaps in cybersecurity worldwide, including in Indonesia.

The Master of Cybersecurity program from Monash University, Indonesia is expected to produce innovative professionals who are able to apply the acquired skills to develop and create good security solutions to protect systems from cyber threats.

On the other hand, the Master of Public Health program is trying to answer the global challenge of the need for effective and sustainable public health solutions. Through the Master of Public Health program, students are guided to make the most effective, evidence-based, and progressive public health policies. This program is expected to create better health outcomes for people and communities while protecting Indonesia better for a healthier future.

The registration period for prospective students for the two programs has started, registration for the Master of Cybersecurity program will close on September 3, 2022 with the intake starting in October 2022. Meanwhile, the registration period for the Master of Public Health program will end in December with the intake starting on 16 January 2023. Both programs have the same duration of study, which is 1.5 years for full-time students, and 3-4 years for part-time students.

In addition to the two newly opened programs this year, Monash University Indonesia has also opened a special master's education level with four scientific fields, namely Data Science, Business Innovation, Policy and Management, and Urban Planning since 2021.
