Mental Health Awareness Month
University life is full of rewarding experiences, but it can also come with its share of challenges. Balancing study with work, relationships, responsibilities, and everything else on your plate can become overwhelming. It’s okay not to have everything figured out, and you don’t have to manage it all on your own.
Whether you’re feeling stressed, anxious, isolated, or simply finding things a bit difficult, support is available. At Monash, you can find a range of services, programs and resources to support your mental health and wellbeing and help you navigate whatever you’re going through. To help promote mental health awareness, the Library has put together a program for the full month of October.

Event description
After a long year of assessments, work and stress, there are still a few weeks of semester to go. Take some time to slow down and try the art of 文人画 (wénrénhuà), or Chinese ink painting.
Wénrénhuà was pioneered by busy ancient Chinese government officials who, after a long day of work, retreated their studies to unwind and paint. Join artist Daheng Ou to pick up a brush and paint a stalk of bamboo, a mountain, a memory. Let yourself experiment with the movement of ink on paper. Not to create a perfect, photorealistic image, but an expression of your own resilience, integrity, meditation and grace.
This event is open to all - no prior experience needed. Spaces are limited to the first 20 registrants - If the event registration reaches capacity, you'll be added to the waitlist.
