About Us

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Research Unit is made up of a dedicated and highly skilled team of specialist nurses, dieticians, scientists and doctors.  We take part in a variety of international, national and local clinical trials including studies in:

  • Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)
  • Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH or fatty liver)
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
  • Coeliac Disease
  • Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC)
  • Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Alcoholic Hepatitis
  • Refractory Ascites
  • Hepatic Encephalopathy
  • Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis

We pride ourselves in delivering the highest standards of patient care in gastroenterology.  We are at the forefront of medical management and we aim to give our clients the opportunity to participate in innovative new treatment options.

With years of experience in caring for patients with gastroenterological conditions, we understand the impact on the individual (and their family) of living with chronic disease and conditions. We provide ongoing support and appreciate that each client is an individual.  We are passionate about improving treatment options for patients, through our valuable involvement in clinical trials.
