About us

We undertake work in partnership with communities, community organisations, health and social services, to undertake high quality research to advance our understanding of the complex factors that contribute to health inequalities; and to inform efforts to create more just and equitable healthcare systems for all.

Our research methodology includes experience-based co-design, qualitative and mixed methods research, implementation science, epidemiology and geospatial mapping.

Our research programs are underpinned by the principles of consumer and community involvement and co-design.

Partnerships and networks in health systems and equity research are collaborative frameworks that bring together diverse stakeholders to address health inequities and improve healthcare delivery. These collaborations foster knowledge sharing, capacity building, and interdisciplinary approaches, enabling stakeholders to co-design innovative solutions, align resources, and influence policy.

Health Equity in Research Short Course

Run annually, this Monash short course provides an introduction to the theories, concepts and practice of health equity research. You will gain practical skills in employing health equity research designs, data collection and analysis, and embedding an equity focus in research evaluation. In particular, you'll learn how to meaningfully incorporate health equity research with other research methods and study designs.
