MED5101 Scholarly Intensive Placement (SIP)

The Scholarly Intensive Placement (SIP) is one of six rotations undertaken during year 5/D. The SIP is one of the major new components in the new Monash MD and has been designed to provide students with the opportunity, skills, and time, to learn about a particular health issue in-depth.

Students will have the opportunity to choose a 6 week placement in an area of research, education or professional practice relevant to medical science, public health or clinical practice. Eastern Health Clinical School has a number of exciting and diverse SIP projects on offer across a range of public health and medical specialty areas. Possible SIP activities include undertaking a literature review, data collection and analysis, writing up a case report, conducting an audit, development of an educational tool or patient information brochure, etc.
