2026 Online Korean Language Exchange with Partner Vietnamese Universities
Monash Korean Studies organised our third annual online Korean Language Exchange Program with Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 from May 11th to May 29th. During the program, introductory-level students from both universities were grouped were grouped to practice communicating in Korean via Zoom.
A total of 24 students participated, including 18 from Monash University and 6 from Hanoi Pedagogical University 2. Participation was slightly lower than last year due to the limited number of eligible students from partner Vietnamese universities, as many students were enrolled at the intermediate or advanced proficiency level.

2025 Online Korean Language Exchange with Partner Vietnamese Universities
Monash Korean Studies organised our second online Korean Language Exchange Program with our partnered universities in Vietnam. The program period was from 15th May to 30th May. As in the previous year, Introductory-level students from Monash University, Van Lang University, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 were grouped together to practice speaking Korean via Zoom. This year, students from Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also joined the program.
A total of 23 students participated: 15 from Monash University, 3 from Van Lang University, 3 from Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, 1 from Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, and 1 from University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Students were asked to arrange times to meet with their groups via ZOOM and were provided with a list of topics and questions to guide their discussions. After several meetings, each group submitted a short 5-10 minute video recording of their exchange as evidence of participation. Students who successfully completed the program were awarded a certificate of participation.
2024 Online Korean Language Exchange with Partner Vietnamese Universities
From 13th May to 3rd June 2024, Monash Korean Studies organised our very first online Korean Language Exchange Program with our partnered Vietnamese Universities. Introductory level students from Monash, Van Lang, Hanoi Pedagogical 2, and Da Nang University were grouped together to practice speaking Korean via Zoom. There was a total of 70 students who participated in this program: 35 from Monash, 13 from Van Lang, 8 from Hanoi Pedagogical, and 14 from Da Nang. Students were asked to arrange time to meet with their group via Zoom and were provided with a list of topics and questions to discuss during their meetings. After a few meetings, each group was asked to submit a short 5–10-minute video recording of their exchange as evidence of participation. Students that have successfully completed the program were awarded a certificate of participation.
Engaging Activities for Effective Korean Language Learning (28 September 2022)
On 28th September 2022, Monash University Korean Studies Research Hub member and Korean language instructor Heekyung Ahn held a one-hour ZOOM workshop for Korean language teachers and students at the Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, Vietnam entitled 'Engaging Activities for Effective Korean Language Learning.' The session focused on communicative teaching activities in Korea language classrooms for introductory level learners. The event was jointly organised by Nguyễn Thị Hồng Nhật Dean of Faculty of English, lecturer of English at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, Vietnam and the Monash University Korean Studies Research Hub. In total, 100 participants attended the event.
