Please join us in congratulating all winners and participants of the Korean Speech contest 2024!

The final round for the Monash Korean Studies 7th Annual Korean Speech Contest was held at Clayton campus on October 3rd, 2024. Contestants presented a 3-5 minute speech on:

“My favourite Korean song/drama/tv show/movie and what I learned from it about Korean language and culture”.

Like last year, the speech contest included contestants from our partner Vietnam Universities: Korean and Culture Faculty - Van Lang University (반랑대학교), Hanoi Pedagogical Vietnam (하노이사범대학교2) and Da Nang University (다낭대학교). The event was a great success and an enjoyable night for everyone. All participants did an amazing job of showcasing their ability to fluently express their love towards Korean media and how this has helped them learn about Korean language and culture.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Melbourne Mr Changhoon Yi, our judges Ms Eun-Hee Kim, Dr Nicola Fraschini and Dr Jessica Huynh, Korean Studies' teaching associates and students, and family members for joining us and supporting all participants at the contest. A big thanks to our MC Ahin Kim for her exceptional hosting skills!
