What's in a brand?

A brand is the summation of our identity, behaviour and performance outcomes - it's our reputation. Often when people refer to brand they refer to the way things look – logos, typography, colour palette and photography. Brand is far more than visual identity.

Our brand tells people who we are, what we stand for and what they can expect from us. Work, outputs and behaviours across the University that don’t support this approach diminishes our brand.

We actively encourage and promote ethical and sustainable marketing practices that align with the University's sustainability initiatives.

We see brand and reputation as inseparable.

How to use the brand

We've developed, published and communicated clear standards that outline how we can express the Monash brand including the way we write, the designs we create and the stories we tell. This helps to create a cohesive narrative while still meeting the needs of individual projects.

Following the standards on this website removes personal aesthetic and preferences from design decisions.
