Message from the Chief Marketing, Admissions and Communications Officer and Vice-President

Fabian Morrone

Monash University has achieved many successes in its short 60-year history.

As we’ve grown, so has our brand. It has evolved to reflect our diverse communities, ambitions and priorities, as well as our aspirations and achievements.

At Monash, we’re overachievers unafraid to roll up our sleeves to get the job done, and our brand embodies that spirit – bold and brave, proud yet humble.

It signals our identity, behaviour and performance – a sum, if done, right, that equals a strong reputation.

  • Identity is how our value proposition is interpreted through the way we look and sound; how we present ourselves to our community through visual identity and distinct tone of voice.
  • Behaviour is our value proposition in action, brought to life through the behaviours of our community.
  • Performance is a reflection of how well we live our brand value proposition

When people experience our brand, it’s important that they recognise it’s us – even without a logo or other key identifiers.

A strong and successful brand is applied consistently – within a continuum of flexibility and ecosystem of brand hierarchy – ensuring people know who we are and what we stand for. If misused, it detracts from how well people recognise and experience us. That’s why it’s so important that we maintain consistency and integrity in the way we look and engage with others.

Our Brand Book guides you on how to use the Monash brand the right way.

When we all apply the brand as intended, we are telling our global community – staff, students, alumni and partners – a clear and cohesive story, no matter where we are in the world. And demonstrating Monash pride.

Take the time to explore the Brand Book – not purely as a set of guidelines, but as a toolkit to enhance our community’s experience of Monash. Understand its nuances and contribute to further building on Monash University’s local and international reputation and impact.

Thank you for being part of Monash’s brand journey. If you have any questions about our brand, please complete the Brand requests form.
