Muhamad Risqi U. Saputra, DPhil – Assistant Professor, Data Science, Monash University, Indonesia

Dr. Muhamad Risqi Saputra is an assistant professor in Data Science and is the Program Coordinator for the Master of Data Science at Monash University, Indonesia. He did his PostDoc and his DPhil (PhD) in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Previously, he obtained both master and undergraduate degrees in the department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. Risqi’s research interest mainly revolves around the application of AI for good, particularly by applying computer vision and machine learning approaches to a wide range of issues including disaster recovery and management, environmental monitoring, health science, assistive technology, or smart cities. Recently, he obtained Google Research Scholar Award (United States) and MI Seed Funding Grants, further pushing his research agenda on AI for Environment. Find out more

Alex Lechner – Professor, Urban Design, Monash University, Indonesia

Dr. Alex Lechner is a Landscape Ecologist and Professor who teaches the Masters in Urban Design at Monash University Indonesia based in Jakarta.  He has held a variety of different roles in academia, most recently at the University of Nottingham Malaysia campus and University of Queensland. Alex has a BSc in Ecology from the University of Queensland, and a MAppSci specialising in Geospatial Science and a PhD in Landscape Ecology from RMIT University. Alex’s research at Monash University Indonesia addresses the fundamental challenge associated with transforming Southeast Asian urban ecological, technical, economic, and social systems, while still supporting sustainable development drawing on GIS and remote sensing applications. He has 139 academic publications, including 105 international journal papers, many in top-tiered journals. He also serves as the Vice-President of Research at Monash Indonesia. Find out more

Dr Ir. Lukas – MAI, CISA, IPM, Chairman of Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Society (IAIS)

Dr. Lukas is an associate professor in the Electrical Engineering department, Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya. He is currently the chairman of the Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Society (IAIS) and the founder of the security community entitled Indonesia Honeynet Project (IHP). He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia in 1995. He obtained both his Master of Artificial Intelligence (1998) and Doctor of Engineering (2003) from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium. He has extensive experience as a senior lecturer and assessor for the Indonesia National Accreditation institution for Higher Education (BAN-PT), and as vice-dean and the head of program study in the Faculty of Engineering at Unika Atma Jaya. He also has many industry certifications in project management, ethical hacking, IS audit, and AI technology.

Juan Kanggrawan – Head of Product, Data, Tribe National Ministry (GovTech) & Smart Cities

Analytics, product management, technocrat & business strategy professional with comprehensive 15++ years of exposure in business, government and technology.  Lead team members consist of various teams/departments, such as: strategy, product, data, policy, tech/engineering, economics, research, partnership, operation. Drive organisations to make better decisions, faster, across levels and functions. Plan, build and commercialise digital and data product portfolio. Actively volunteer in numerous domains to drive concrete impacts in city, society, nation and region. Passionate in talent building, teaching, academic research (including journal editorial board) and philosophical discussion.

Muhammad Zayyanul Afwani – Spatial Analyst, World Resources Institute

Zayyan is a Spatial Analyst Consultant for Cities4Forest in WRI Indonesia. He has responsibility for the data collection of individual urban trees, land cover mapping, and GHG emissions calculations. Prior to working at WRI Indonesia, he worked as a GIS Engineer at PT. Esri Indonesia under the Education and Community division. He was responsible for providing product knowledge to the university and community in Indonesia. After working with environment-based communities, Zayyan got interested in GIS and AI for Environmental and Sustainability. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Currently, he also works as a GIS Specialist for MENTARI (Menuju Transisi Rendah Energi Karbon) program under PT. Palladium and Hivos. Apart from his work, he is keen to visit cultural places and natural wonders of Indonesia.
