Monash Batik is a cultural initiative by Monash University, Indonesia that blends traditional Indonesian Batik artistry with the values and visual identity of Monash University. It represents our commitment to cultural engagement, community, and shared identity.

Monash Batik is designed for students, staff, alumni, and university partners who wish to celebrate cultural heritage and proudly represent the Monash community.

The design draws from the Monash University shield, including the open book, the sword and wreath, the Southern Cross stars, and the motto Ancora Imparo. It also reflects Monash’s core values through traditional Batik patterns and colour.

Hand-drawn Batik (Batik Tulis) – Available in silk or cotton, featuring intricate patterns with Monash Blue, black, grey, and white.

Hand-stamped Batik (Batik Cap) – Available in cotton, using two-tone patterns (blue and white) and traditional motifs such as Parang, Kawung, and Truntum.

Monash Batik is handcrafted in Pekalongan, Central Java, Indonesia, by more than 200 Batik artisans in partnership with a trusted local Batik provider.

You can register your interest by filling out the Monash Batik Interest Form. The Monash Batik vendor will contact you directly to complete your order and arrange delivery.

Since each piece is handmade, production and delivery times may vary. The vendor will provide an estimated timeline once your order is confirmed.
