BPSDM Ministry of Public Works Establishes Educational Cooperation with Monash University, Indonesia

Jakarta – In an effort to enhance Human Resource (HR) competencies in the field of public works, the Human Resource Development Agency or Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Public Works has established a partnership with Monash University, Indonesia. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties took place in Jakarta on Monday 9 December 2024. This collaboration encompasses education, training, research, and community service, aiming to create professional, integrity-driven, and quality-oriented civil servants or Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN).

The Head of BPSDM at the Ministry of Public Works, Dadang Rukmana, stated that this collaboration is a strategic step to ensure that the Ministry's human resources can meet global challenges. "This signing is our concrete effort to improve ASN competencies through well-planned programs based on real needs. Through this collaboration, we are opening access to global knowledge and innovation, which is integrated with national infrastructure development needs," he explained.
Monash University, Indonesia is expected to make significant contributions through technology-based and innovative approaches. Dadang added that this collaboration allows civil servants to gain international insights relevant to the local context. "By integrating global knowledge and local practices, we are confident that the Ministry of Public Works' civil servants will be more adaptive and productive, and able to make tangible contributions to national development," he clarified.
This agreement also emphasizes the importance of sustainability in its implementation. BPSDM ensures that the agreed programs will be carried out in a structured manner and followed by more detailed cooperation agreements. This step aims to ensure that each initiative undertaken can have a direct impact on improving the productivity and performance of civil servants.
Responding positively to the MoU, Tantia Dian, COO and VP (Operations & Enterprise) of Monash University, Indonesia, said,"This MoU serves as an umbrella agreement, marking a significant milestone in the relationship between Monash University Indonesia and the Ministry of Public Works. Our hope is that this MoU will catalyze a series of cooperative efforts in the near future, fostering a strong, enduring partnership between both institutions."
The collaboration with Monash University, Indonesia becomes an important foundation in building excellent human resources that support the grand vision of the Ministry of Public Works towards Golden Indonesia 2045. With a spirit of cooperation and strong commitment, it is hoped that the Ministry of Public Works' human resources will be able to bring positive changes to the organization and the wider community.
