Participatory Digital Health & Inclusive Technology Lab
Co-designing digital health solutions with vulnerable communities
Indonesia faces complex public health challenges — from unmet youth mental health needs and unsafe medication use among older adults, to persistent barriers for people with disabilities and inequitable access to care across provinces.
The PARTICIPATE Lab addresses these gaps through participatory approaches to digital health innovation for vulnerable populations in Indonesia and comparable low- and middle-income country (LMIC) contexts. We generate policy-relevant evidence on how digital technologies can be co-designed, implemented, and governed to improve equity, access, and quality of health care across the life course.

Meet the researchers
The PARTICIPATE Lab is composed of a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to addressing critical gaps in public health through inclusive digital innovation. Our researchers combine deep expertise in pharmacoepidemiology, gerontology, and mental health to co-design evidence-based solutions that improve healthcare equity and access for vulnerable populations throughout Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region. Under the leadership of Associate Professor Grace Wangge, the team works at the intersection of technology and governance to transform health outcomes across the life course.
