Associate Professor Natalie Trevaskis
Monash Profile | Google Scholar | ORCID | Twitter | Email
Associate Professor Trevaskis heads the lymphatic biology and drug delivery laboratory at MIPS. She is also a senior lecturer within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University. She coordinates the unit How Medicines Work 2 and teaches drug delivery, formulation and pharmacokinetics in the Master of Pharmacy Course. Assoc Prof Trevaskis completed her PhD in drug delivery in 2006, and subsequently worked on industry (Pfizer, Novartis) and government (NHMRC) funded projects before establishing her own lab in 2014. She has published >55 papers on lipid-based and lymphatic drug delivery including in top journals Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, Angewandte Chemie and Journal of Controlled Release, and highly cited reviews in Nature Reviews Drug Discovery, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews and Pharmacological Reviews. She is also the inventor on over 20 patent applications for lymph-directing formulations and prodrugs that have been licensed to Puretech Health. Dr Trevaskis continues to be fascinated by the roles and functions of the lymphatic system, and is excited by the potential to develop completely new treatments for immune and metabolic diseases by targeting the lymphatics. In her spare time she enjoys trail running and spending time with her family and friends.
