SUPPORT-Meds
The benefits and harms of medicine use can change over time. Regular review and deprescribing are needed to ensure that Australians are taking the right medicines, without being exposed to unnecessary risks.
Deprescribing can be safe, driven by evidence and welcomed by many patients. Every clinician has the ability to assist in the deprescribing process, and the SUPPORT-Meds program is designed to help.

SUPPORT-Meds is a nationwide program supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing under the Quality Use of Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Pathology program. It has been developed by Monash University in collaboration with Ageing Australia, the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA), New South Wales Therapeutic Advisory Group (NSW TAG), the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
